A Much Needed Break...

After working for what seems to be every moment of my free time I decided we needed a break!

So we packed up the kids and took a trip to one of our kids favorite duck ponds last weekend...and we had so much fun!

We spent the afternoon laying in the sun, reading books and watching the kids run around just being the fun crazy kids they are.

A trip to the pond would not complete with out picking at least one rollie pollie out of my daughter's hair.....

Or having the kids running full speed at us to show us "the coolest stick" they just found...

Or one great picture (my new fav. of all time!) of me and my little muffins...

Be Jeweled Designs Hits The Red Carpet!

Be Jeweled Designs has not only hit the red carpet but the red carpet all the way in Ireland!

Nula first contacted Be Jeweled Designs, all the way from Ireland, after falling in love with our powder pink Satin Tutu Skirts on line and wanted to know if we could create a custom piece just for her. And of course we said YES! We worked with her to create a stunning piece made to order just for her and it turned out amazing (if i do say so myself!).

I was delighted, to say the least, to receive an email from Nula telling about her latest tutu news. She attended the Sex And The City premier in Dublin and wore her Be Jeweled Designs original, she looks great! While at the after party they were handing our door/raffle prizes as well as a "Best Dressed" award for the lady who captured the what the movie was about - great fashion! And Nula won in her Be Jeweled Designs Original! I was so happy for her! Here are a couple pictures of her at the event, is she not stunning?!

Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale, Results

We held our Bake Sale on May 31st in partner with Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale, with all proceeds going to Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry to do our part to end Childhood Hunger. With many corporate supporters both large and small it was a great success! We raised hundreds of dollars, community awareness and managed to inspire a few others to start up their own fundraisers...we could not have asked for more! Here are a few pics of our event, enjoy!

Here I am in the middle playing "let's make a deal" on another sale, lol. With so many yummy treats to choose from and o-so-many great raffle prizes we made every sale count.

With much support for the school and staff ,I held a cookie decorating party at my son's elementary school. Where I had each student of McWhorter Elementary School in Dallas Texas (all 650 of them!) decorate a cookie to be sold at the Bake Sale. They did such a great job, and they all turned out beautiful! Here are a few all packaged up.

The Dallas Firemen came with their big read truck to show their support, giving all the kids a tour of their fire engine and buying their fair share of treat and raffle tickets as well! The firemen really cleaned up winning raffle prizes from Starbucks, The Dallas Burn Soccer Team, Frisco Rough Riders Baseball Team and Fun Expressions (thank you fellow Mom Packer for your wonderful donation!)!

When i started this fundraiser i never imagined how involved i would become. I have really put myself into this organization and plan on hosting another Bake Sale either in the Fall or Spring. Our second Bake Sale will be much bigger and better as i have plans to make it a Bake Sale and Carnival in one, how fun!

Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale, Update

When i decided to start DFW'S Cup Cakes For Kids Bake Sale , in partner with Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale i had no idea how "into" it i would become! What started as just a bake sale to raise fund to end childhood hunger has turned into a huge event and i could not be happier! Share Our Strength is such a great organization and it is almost impossible not to try to make my fundraiser the best it can be!

Here is where we are as to date:

We have set our date for May 31, 2008 from 12 - 3pm at McWhorter Elementary School in Dallas Texas. We will have a wide variety of treats for sale from cookies to cakes and muffins to lemon bars, YUM! But there is much more! We will be holding a raffle to raise additional funds as well with some amazing prizes. So many companies have jumped on board and have donated the following to be raffled off:

*$50 gift card to Central Market

*$25 gift card to Sam's Club

Share Our Shrength

What a GREAT organization!!!

I was watching Food Network with my son a couple weeks ago and saw a commercial for The Great American Bake Sale benefiting Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry Foundation. It was explaining how people like you and me can make a HUGE difference in the fight to end childhood hunger just by holding a bake sale. I went on line and did some research and i was hooked.

That day my hubby, two kids and i started DFW'S Cup Cakes For Kids Bake Sale set for May 31. But we are aiming big with a goal of $5000 to raise! We have already partnered with Starbucks, Kroger and Super Target who all say they will either donate $25 gift cards or small items to be raffled off. O yes we are going to have a raffle too, so fun! I will be donating a few items from my store, www.bejeweleddesigns.net to be raffled as well as other fun items. We are wanting this to be HUGE and we know it can be. Every dollar raised counts, every effort counts and is seen in the eyes of the children this great organization helps every day.

What great women!

I listed a post about our Bake Sale on the Mom Pack ( one of the best yahoo groups around!) and was flooded with great advice, ideas and a few true angels have taken time out of their lives to jump on board and help how ever they can. Either by going out and buying items we desperately need to make this a success or by looking around their house and sending in what they can. Thank you all so very much to doing your part to end child hood hunger!

Could You Hear It?

O the times we are tested as Mothers....

Today i witnessed to date by far the best tantrum show of my life! Can you believe the sweet little angel you see in the pic below could be anything but sweet?

Lets go back a couple hours shall we....It was time for her bath/shower and she did NOT want any part of it...after some coaxing i finally got her int he shower and all was fine. She was playing, washing her little ponies hair (which i am sure is going to fall out any day due to way to much shampoo) and signing her little songs. When i went to wash her hair it was like a switch went off and crazy Brooklyn came out! lol. She was grabbing her hair, screaming "no, no do not wash my hair it is not dirty!" Mind you there was a chunk of oatmeal that had made a little home in her long hair from breakfast that she assures me she did not put there, ha ha. I finally get the shampoo in and out of her hair and she is happy again...while i am thinking "wow, that was a bit dramatic! Esp. for shampoo." So the time comes to get her out and there is that switch again..that little girl that wanted nothing to do with the shower now wants nothing to do with getting out of the shower. So after few minutes of talking and getting no where i just turn the water off and go to pick her up...she hurls her body to the corner of the shower screaming "i do not want to get out!" over and over, do kids have a reply button?! I pick her up and while i am drying her off and getting her clothes on she is screaming so loud she is shaking....it gets to a point i just start laughing out of shock of this performance. I swear i really though some one was going to call 911 thinking this poor little girl is in grave danger from the sounds that were coming out of her. Now one would think after all that she would just pass out (it was nap time) O no..she emerges from her room and declares since i made her get clean she is making me come to her tea party! Whoa?! What a morning!

I am sure there are many of you that can relate to that story and probably have your own to share....looking back on it i just laugh...how can you not? lol.

All About Style

What is more fun than shopping for your little one? OK besides a Mommy day at the spa...nothing! Lol. I just love these little tops, they are fun, unique and add a little splash of style to your little ones already sassy personality. No to mention they can go with just about anything...i love this tee with a polka dot tutu and slip on converse...

These fun infant tees are a so cute! There are so many characters and colors to choose from!

What i love about the tanks is that they are so customizable-you can basically create your own crystal tank with your little princesses name on it! This tank is great alone with her favorite pair of jeans, shorts or capris or she can pair it with one of our Satin or Poof tutus. There are also set options to choose from as well. Play Time...

This past weekend my fam and i set off on a road trip to Houston...OK it is only four hours away and OK it took us five and a half to get there (honestly how does a little boy have to pee so much, five bathroom stops?!) but it was a trip to us. :) We drove down for the weekend to stay with some friends and had the best time....the kids ran wild for two days and i loved every minute of it! I have a ton of pics to upload but here are a few...

so i guess in front of a smelly sheep pen is a good a place as any to take a family picture! lol.

Brooklyn and I...I love hose happy she looks. She is only three and this tall...granted I am only five two but still!

Stop the press....we are all in a picture together! Who cares if we are all looking at the camera, we all look happy and there fore this is a winner in my book! ha ha.

Coming home back to "reality" was a rude awakening to all the "work" i have to do, don't you hate that feeling?! I have so many new products to share and a giveaway coming up soon as well! But that post will have to be for tomorrow as i hear a box of cookies calling my name. yum!

Tea For Two

It was very much one of those mornings. You know the type…the alarm goes off way to early, your coffee can not brew fast enough and you are wondering why you are heating up your child’s milk rather that their oatmeal. And no matter what you do you cannot seem to get out of that “rut” you woke up in….sigh…what are you going to do though? So determined to shake the “I do not want to be awake right now blues” I put on a tutu (one of my daughters of course, lol) and declared to my three year old “we are hosting a tea party today so we must get Fancy!” Ever bit the princess she is, she jumped up clapped her hands together and rushed off to get her “outfit together”…. O how a tea party can change your morning…. I did not care that it was ten AM and we were having cupcakes for a morning snack…. cupcakes smothered in chocolate frosting that it…I looked at her across the table covered in crumbs, smileing ear to ear and just laughed….. today is going to be a good day….

About Me.....
My name is Jennifer, as of March 17, 2008 i will have been married to the greatest man in the world for seven years. We have two beautiful/energetic children, our son who is 6 and our daughter who is 3. I am a stay at home mom and run my business in between games of tag and Candy Land, and love every moment of it. Yes, my hands are full! I love creating just about anything, painting, scrap booking (i really need to get back on that I am so far behind!), sewing..anything!
I started creating tutus after my daughter turned one and it really was my husband that pushed me to make Be Jeweled Designs grow. Inspiration....
My name is Jennifer I am a wife, mother, sister and daughter, but is also an artist. I feel so very fortunate that I am able to be a stay at home mom and raise my two amazing children, and equally as fortunate that i am able to design and sell my own line of girl's fashions at the same time. Inspiration is all around me; the innocence in my daughter’s laugh a silly look from my son, everywhere. I incorporate a piece of everything being a child is about into my tutu and tank designs, innocence, whimsy and magic. Now that I am able to be passing on my delightful and creative designs to you girls of all ages can feel just as magical!
